It is with great sadness that we announce the Crossing of the Bar of our shipmate & dear friend Peter Glover who sadly passed away on Saturday, surrounded by his family. Pete was one of our six founding members of our LSSC Senior Service Club Leicester, now The Royal Navy, Military & Social Club and over the clubs 50 years Pete served in numerous committee positions, including Chairman, President, and held the role of Vice President right up until his passing. Pete was an HMS Ganges boy, a Bunting Radio Operator and a Yachtie, having served our late Queen Elizabeth onboard The Royal Yacht BRITANNIA and also an Honorary Member of our HMS BIRMINGHAM ASSOCIATION having served on the cruiser HMS Birmingham C19. He also served on HMS Naiad, amongst other RN ships.
Our thoughts, prayers and condolences are with Pete’s dear wife, Glenis, and his family at this sad time. “Stand down, fair winds, calm seas and safe anchorage old friend. Your shipmates have the watch”.
